Vande Mataram is a National song Of India which was composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterji’s in 1882, it was written in Sanskrit and Bengali, this song was for the Mother Land, which plays an important role in Indian Independence movement . Bankim Chandra was one of the earliest graduate’s of the newly established Calcutta university, after completed his BA he joined the British Indian Government as a civil servant . Chatterjee was interested in recent events in Indian and Bengali history , it was believed that the concept of Vande Mataram came to Bankim chandra chatterjee when he was still a government in the year 1876. Chatterjee wrote the poem by using Sanskrit and Bengali words, the poem was published in chatterjee’s book in the year 1882.
Vante Mataram is the national cry for freedom from British Rule during the Indian Independence movement. Rabindranath Tagore sang a song Vande Mataram in 1896 at Calcutta congress session which is held in Beadon Square. In 1907 , Bhikaiji Kama created the first version of national flag( the Tiranga) in Germany and Stuttgart, in the middle of Flag Vande Mantaram is witten on it.
The core of Vande Mataram is a hymn to a goddess Durga. In year 1937 , the Indian National Congress discussed the status of the song, it was pointed that the first two stanzas began with the beauty of motherland in the last stanzas there are references where the motherland likened to the Hindu goddess Durga , therefore INC decided to take only the first two stanza as the National song Of India.
